# Agent Settings

> Every configurable parameter for your live trading agent

## Agent Identity

**Agent Name**
A display label for your agent — shown on the dashboard, in chat, and in notifications. Purely cosmetic.

**Token Whitelist**
The set of tickers your agent is allowed to trade. The agent will never open a position in anything not on this list.

```
BTC, ETH, SOL, WIF, HYPE
```

<Tip>Start with 3–5 tokens you know well. A tighter whitelist means the agent's context is more focused and its per-token analysis is deeper.</Tip>

## Run Schedule

How often the agent wakes up to analyze the market and potentially make a decision.

| Schedule | Use Case                 | Credit Cost |
| -------- | ------------------------ | ----------- |
| 15 min   | Scalping, high-frequency | Highest     |
| 30 min   | Active intraday          | High        |
| 1h       | Balanced intraday        | Medium      |
| 2h       | Intraday swing           | Medium      |
| 4h       | Standard swing           | Low         |
| 8h       | Slow swing               | Low         |
| 12h      | Daily trend              | Very low    |
| 24h      | Long-term positioning    | Lowest      |
| Custom | Any interval in hours | Varies |

<Note>A run only costs credits when it calls the AI model. A WAIT decision is cheaper than a trade decision because WAIT responses are typically shorter.</Note>

## Risk Parameters

These are enforced hard limits — the agent checks these before executing any trade, and also uses them to guide its reasoning.

### Max Open Positions

Maximum number of concurrent open trades.

**Default:** 5\
**Recommendation:** 3–5 for most strategies. Lower for conservative approaches.

### Position Size (Min / Max %)

The range of capital the agent can allocate per individual trade, expressed as a percentage of total account value.

**Default:** 5% min / 20% max\
**Example:** With $1,000 in your account and 5–20% range, each position will be between $50 and \$200.

### Max Drawdown %

The agent pauses automatically if your portfolio drops this percentage from its peak value during the session.

**Default:** 15%\
**How it works:** If your account peaks at $1,000 and falls to $850, the agent pauses and sends a notification.

<Warning>
  The agent pauses — it does not close positions. Open positions remain on Hyperliquid and continue to be affected by market movement after the pause. Go to the app to manually close if needed.
</Warning>

### Max Daily Loss %

Similar to Max Drawdown but resets at midnight UTC. The agent pauses if daily P\&L reaches this threshold.

**Default:** 5%

## Modifying Settings

Go to **Modify Agent** from the dashboard to update:

* Strategy prompt and important notes
* Model selection
* Token whitelist
* Run schedule
* Risk parameters
* Data source toggles

Changes take effect on the **next scheduled run**.

You can also ask your agent to **propose changes** via chat — it will surface a formal proposal card that you can apply or dismiss with one tap. See [Setting Change Proposals](/chat/setting-proposals).
